The challenge

Employing 11,000 employees across 6 countries, Varner have a high turnover. Onboarding and training new employees, and doing it well, is a big and demanding task. Having the right tool to meet the learning needs of a large and dispersed workforce makes the job much easier. Varner was looking to update it’s more traditional e-learning solution to better meet the needs of a largely young workforce.

The solution

As all of their employees carry mobile phones at all times, Varner felt it was logical to opt for a mobile-based e-learning solution. With a mobile solution, store managers and sales assistants can complete their training when it suits them.

The results

New starters can quickly and easily access basic information when they join the organization, as well as learning about the Varner brand, the chain that is employing them. With Motimate, employees can also learn about the tools, systems and routines relevant to them, as well as engaging with seasonal training on products. Varner also uses Motimate as a communications tool to share news and changes on the horizon.

Motimate is easy to use for both employees who are to carry out the training and for those who are producing training courses, but perhaps the most important improvement is that we can now reach out to all our employees in a quick and easy way.
